Our client is a leading Bulgarian machine building company with a production facility based in Gabrovo. It has restructured its internal organization to prepare for the next growth phase. It is currently recruiting a new Chief Operations Officer to enhance its management team and professionalise its organisation.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

As a board member, the Chief Operations Officer will be responsible for the production and maintenance departments employing over 100 employees. This role is especially suitable for someone who has experience and interest in defining/redesigning and implementing the necessary internal processes and reporting system in order to allow the company to deliver its sales target on time with the required quality while minimizing the costs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Plan, organize and manage the manufacturing and maintenance operations to ensure an adequate return on assets.

·       Initiate and implement initiatives to minimize the manufacturing costs while still delivering the products on time and with the required quality. 

·       Design and implement continuous improvement routines and projects.

·       Continually improve safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes. Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas.

·       Support the training of the employees in production and maintenance

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

·       Engineer degree: preferably Mechanical engineer

·       At least 5 years of experience, with 2 in supervisory/managerial positions

·       Experience in running change management projects and implementing new processes (lean manufacturing).

·       Excellent analytical skills combined with the ability to see the details as well as the big picture

·       Strong leadership skills, independent thinker, strong organizational and planning abilities and excellent analytical and problem solving skills 

·       High energy level

·       Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ERP-solutions)

·       Fluency in Bulgarian and English

·       Readiness to spend at least 4 days per week in Gabrovo
